Anderson - Juhl Roland   Baker, 67, Anderson, died January 24, 2003 at his residence after a brief illness.   

He was born July 6, 1935 in Anderson, Indiana, and resided in  Anderson, Indiana.  He was a life long resident of Anderson.

He retired from Guide Division of General Motors Corporation in 1991 and was currently employed by the State of Indiana.

He was a 50 year member of the United Methodist Church and was currently serving as chairman of the trustees at the First United Methodist Church of Alexandria.  He was a 47 year member of Solar Masonic Lodge #734 F. & A.M. where he was a Past Master and current secretary.  He was a charter member and Past Patron of Solar Star #604.  He belonged to Chapter #52 R.A.M. Commandry #32 K.T., Anderson Council #69 C.M., Madison County Shrine, and the Murat Shrine of Indianapolis.  His hobbies included fishing, traveling, woodworking, and he always enjoyed a good ''fix-it'' challenge.  He was a loving husband and father and he adored his grandchildren.

He is survived by his Wife:  Janalee (Romine) Baker. Daughter:  Kandi & husband Barney Alexander and children Ryan and Amie.  Son:  Juhl ''Chip'' & wife Susan Baker and children Sarah and Juhl ''Cody''.  Daughter:  Cyndee & husband Jeff Atkinson and children Russell, Janalee and Jennifer.  Sister:  Becky & husband Larry Cleveland.  Several Nieces & Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Daughter:  Teresa Baker.  Parents:  Juhl O. & Lucille (Bartlett) Baker.

Services will be Tuesday, January 28, 2003  at 11:00 AM, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home & Crematory, NORTH CHAPEL.  6061 St. Road 9 North, Alexandria, with Dr. Ray Probasco officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson .   

Visitation will be from  3-8:00 PM on  Monday, January 27, 2003 at funeral home, NORTH CHAPEL..

A Masonic Service will be conducted Monday, January 27, 2003 at 7:00 PM

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the renovation fund at Alexandria First United Methodist Church;  116 W. Broadway Street; Alexandria, IN  46001
