Anne M. Witte, of Sammamish, died on February 12, 2004 at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue.  She was 62.

Anne was born on August 15, 1941 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of John and Beatrice Pullen.  She was reared and graduated from high school in Princeton, Illinois.  Anne had a degree in Political Science from the University of Iowa, and was literate in Russian, Latin, French, Spanish, German, as well as English.  She put her background to good use in writing editorials for the Issaquah Press and Republican Call and Pacific Northwest Monthly; assisted in editing Washington State Newsletter and was an occasional contributor to the Journal American Newspaper.

Anne was a Republican Precinct Committee Officer (P.C.O.), P.C.O. advocate and was the driving force in the rule change which enabled elected P.C.O.?s an automatic caucus delegate for district and county conventions.  Anne chaired many gubernatorial, Senate, Congressional and local races.  She was the motivational force behind many candidates.  She was also an original member of the Cascade Republican Women?s Club.  

In her spare time Anne was an avid reader, mastered crosswords, and enjoyed the sun and traveling.

The District and County will feel the loss of Mrs. Witte?s energy, her manual writing, and her advice, to so many officeholders, for many years to come.

Survivors include her loving husband Vernon E. Witte; brother Jack Pullen of Carrollton, Georgia; sister Martha Simmon, of Kennesaw, Georgia and two nieces and a nephew.
