John Arend Anthony, of Snoqualmie, died Saturday, March 20, 2004 at Providence Marianwood in Issaquah.  He was 88.

John was born October 18, 1915 in Quinn South Dakota to John and Nellie Anthony.  He was raised in Yankton, South Dakota where he graduated from Yankton High School.

On June 17, 1944 he married Maryanne Krsak in Seattle.  In 1956 the family moved and settled in Snoqualmie.  John worked at Lockheed Shipyard, formerly Puget Sound Bridge and Dry-dock, in Seattle from which he retired in 1970 as the Electrical Superintendent.  Following his retirement they purchased a motor home in which they traveled throughout North and Central America; from Alaska to Nicaragua.  

In his leisure time John enjoyed hiking, camping, riding his Tennessee Walking Horse and working on his farm.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.  

In addition to his loving wife survivors include three children, Maryanne Halverson of Bellevue, Patricia Jordan of Snoqualmie and Jonnet Anthony Nesvig of Snoqualmie; and five grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his sister Mae Huey in 1988.

A rosary will be held 6:30pm, Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at Flintoft’s Issaquah Funeral Home.  A funeral mass will be held 9 AM, Thursday, March 25, 2004 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Snoqualmie.  A reception will follow at the church.  A family committal service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Ellensburg.
