Charles Melvin Rhodes, 72, of 4710 McIntire Crossing, Owensboro, died Saturday, January 22, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Pineland, SC and raised in Whiteville, NC, a son of the late Obid D. and Elanor Martin Rhodes, he was a graduate of East Carolina University, retired as treasurer of Alcan Aluminum Corporation, which was formerly V.E. Anderson, and was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. His brothers, Lloyd W. Rhodes, Joel L. Rhodes, and Tracy C. Rhodes preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Beverly Moore Rhodes, his son and daughter, Greg Rhodes and Jane Rhodes, both of Owensboro, his brother, James O. Rhodes of Wilmington, NC, and his sister, Betty Wolcott of Gulf Breeze, FL. Services are at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Episcopal Church. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home from noon until 2:00 p.m. Thursday. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Trinity Episcopal Church Music Endowment, 720 Ford Avenue, Owensboro, KY 42301.
