Priscilla Vaughan Brys

Priscilla Brys, 67, of Largo and Clarksville, TN passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2008 under Hospice care.

Born June 26, 1940 in Bumpus Mills, TN she graduated from Stewart County, TN High School and attended business college in Nashville.  Priscilla worked at Ft. Campbell, KY, retiring as accounting supervisor in 1992 after 27 years in civil service.

She was an active member of Hilldale Church of Christ in Clarksville, where she taught children’s Sunday School and was know as the “Muffin Lady” because of the delicious muffins she baked for the children each week.  She was a winter member of Northwest Church of Christ in St. Petersburg, where she loved being in the Ladies Ministry.  She also attended Bible Study Fellowship in St. Petersburg.  She enjoyed biking and RV traveling with her husband Del, was a talented and creative artist who loved painting, ceramics, making greeting cards, quilting and all types of arts and crafts, and especially enjoyed sharing these activities with her grandchildren.  She will be remembered especially for always putting God and her family first, and for her sparkling, joyful personality and the love and encouragement she gave to all.   

Preceding her in death was her father, Thomas Vaughan. She is survived by her husband Delford Brys, mother, Annice Vaughan, sisters Gayla Denton, Donna Mersing, and Judith Olexen, and brothers Wilson Vaughan and Kenny Vaughan, all of Clarksville and Dover, TN, daughter Melissa W. Myers of Treasure Island and son Ashley B. Wyatt of Knoxville, TN, along with 5 grandchildren Jim and Sara Beth Myers, Avery, Abbey and Paul Wyatt.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, January 17, 2008  at  Northwest Church of Christ.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gulfcoast Christian School, 6355 38th Ave N, St. Petersburg FL 33710.
