Weymouth – Jasmine M. (Smith) Leonard, 81 years of age passed away at the South Shore Hospital, Weymouth on May 21, 2010. She was born in Boston and was raised in Weymouth. She was a graduate of Weymouth High School and the Banford Hairdressing School in Boston. She had been a hairdresser in Milton. Jasmine was fond of dogs and cats and loved gardening. She was especially fond of Christmas decorations and celebrations. She was devoted to her family. Jasmine was very giving of herself and was willing to help others. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence Henry Smith and Leah (Nichols) Smith. She is the loving mother of Ronald Laurence Fillmore married to Patricia Fillmore of Bridgewater, Brenda J. Arinella married to John Arinella of East Bridgewater, Lana LeGere married to Steven LeGere of South Weymouth and Vernon K. W. Leonard of Weymouth. She is also survived by ten grandchildren. Jasmine was the sister of the late Richard and William Thistle. A Private Funeral Service will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Home 870 Broad St.,(opposite the U.S. Post Office in Jackson Square) EAST WEYMOUTH on Thursday with a visiting hour preceding the funeral service. Burial will be later at the Old North Cemetery, North Weymouth. Memorial donations may be sent to the Leukemia Research Fund, 3520 Lake Avenue, Suite 202, Wilmette, Illinois 60091.
