Braintree – Barnabe “Barney” Pelletier, 80 years of age, passed away at the South Shore Hospital on Thursday, July 8, 2010. He was born at Madawaska, Maine and graduated from Saint Thomas School there. Barney was a longtime resident of Braintree. During his working years he was a flooring carpenter with the Bert Keith Flooring Company of Quincy and also at one point was a boiler maker with the Harding Welding Company of Quincy. He enjoyed spending summers at his summer home in Pittsburg, N.H. for twenty-three years. He was talented at jewelry making.
Barney was the husband of the late Annabelle E. (Drysdale) Pelletier who died in 2009. He is survived by three sons: William married to Betty Pelletier of Braintree, Thomas married to Barbara Pelletier of Wareham and John married to Patricia Pelletier of Quincy. He is survived by eight grandchildren: William Pelletier, Jr. of Brockton, Scott Pelletier of Holbrook, Thomas Pelletier, Jr. of Wareham, Crystal of Wareham, Amanda Keenan of Weymouth, Andrea Tocchio of Hanover, Kristen Bezanson of Weymouth and Jonathan Pelletier of Quincy. He was the brother of the late Joseph Pelletier and Patricia Lavoie. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren. The burial will be private at Braintree Cemetery.
