Ervin L. Njos of Issaquah, WA, died on Monday, September 13, 2010 from complications stemming from his long battle with diabetes resulting in heart failure.

Ervin was born on March 26, 1937 in Wildrose, ND to Anna C. and Edward O. Njos.  Ervin moved to Issaquah in 1949 at the age 12 with his mother and father, brother Ray, and sisters Liz and Jeannie.  He  was raised in Issaquah, WA, graduated from Issaquah High School in 1955 and also attended Western Washington University.  He married Patte Joan Stubbs from Redmond, WA in 1959.

Ervin worked for Brown & Williamson Tabacco company and Reynolds Metals Company, and in 1977, at the age of 40, decided to be a farmer and run the family farm, growing wheat and barley. He was very ambitious and ran the farm himself until his retirement in 2003.

Ervin found great enjoyment with his kids and grandkids and the many cats and dogs he had through the years. He loved to travel wherever the sunshine was, California and Mexico being a couple of his favorite destinations.

He is survived by his 100 year-old Mother Anna, Issaquah, WA; brother, Ray of Issaquah; sister, Jeannie Elliot of Anacortes, WA; son, Jon Njos and his wife, Kris; grandchildren, Hayden, Maddie & McKay; daughter, Gena Vavrek, and her husband, Dali; grandchildren, Luke and Lenka.  Ervin was preceded in death by his wife, Patte, father, Ed and sister, Liz.

Viewing will be held Thursday, September 16 from 4pm-7pm at Flintoft’s Funeral Home in Issaquah, WA.  Viewing & funeral services will be held on Friday, September 17th at 10am at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Issaquah, WA.   A reception will be held immediately following the service and graveside committal at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue, WA.
