BLOOMINGDALE- Arnold Edward “Bill” Pruitt, 82 of Bloomingdale, died Thursday, September 21, 2006 at VA Illiana Healthcare System in Danville, IL.
He was a retired construction worker and farmer.
He was born March 16, 1924 in Sidell, Illinois to the late Albert Reed Pruitt and Emma Clark Pruitt.
He was preceded in death by his 1st wife Helen M. Curtis Pruitt, his second wife, Mary Hill Pruitt and a special friend Katie.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Jackson of Indianola, IL; his step children, Jack, Debbie, Karla and Carol; six sisters, June Larkin and her husband Eldon of Danville, IL, Helen Virginia Bear and her husband Marion of Homer, IL, Lucille Goad also of Homer, IL, Betty Lou Dean of Georgetown, IL, Judith Darlene Clark of Oakwood, IL, Wanda Varner of Galesburg, IL; two grandsons, Kenneth R. Snook of Indianola, IL, Joshua Deichmiller of Danville, IL; and one great-grandson, Jaxon J. Snook of Westville, IL.
He was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Arnold Pruitt and one brother Donald Pruitt.
He served his country with the United States Army during World War II. He enjoyed horses, ponies and country western music.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the girls in the Palliative Care Unit at the VA Illiana Healthcare System and five special friends, Max, John, Mary, Seigal and Kathy.
Services will be 12 noon Monday, September 25, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 Howard St., Rockville, IN with the Rev. Don Perry officiating. Burial will follow with military graveside honors in the Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-5 Sunday, and before services on Monday.
