Hugh P. Salisbury, 85, of 620 South Plum Street, Plymouth, passed away Friday July 19, 2002 at 12:30 PM at his residence in Plymouth, Indiana.

He was born on November 18, 1916 in Economy, Indiana to John and Eva Benbow Salisbury. Hugh served his country in the United States Army during World War Two.

Hugh and Margaret Jett were married August 17, 1941 in Yuma Arizona.  Margaret passed away on November 24, 1986. Hugh graduated from Ball State University and was a teacher and coach. Hugh moved to Plymouth in 1964 from Stillwell, Indiana.  He coached and taught at West High School, Oregon-Davis, and Kewanna High School.  He retired in 1978 from teaching and coaching basketball and baseball.

He is survived by His Daughters, Janet and Mike Beam of Plymouth, Indiana,  Judy and Rod Johnson of Beaverton, Oregon, and Joyce and Rodney LeRoy of Newport, Tennessee, Sons, James and Jeannie Salisbury of Bourbon, Indiana, John and Mary Salisbury of Kokomo, Indiana.  Also surviving, Hugh's nephew, Robert and Shirley Tobin of Lebanon, Indiana.  13 Grandchildren, 15 Great-grandchildren survive as well.  Hugh was preceded in death by his wife, parents and one sister and one brother.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street in Plymouth, Indiana.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at the Van Gilder Funeral home with Pastor Douglas Jividen officiating.

Burial will be at New Oak Hill Cemetery in Plymouth, Indiana, where a military graveside service will be performed.  

Memorial contributions may be given to the Marshall County Hospice or the Plymouth Baptist Church.
